SUNDAY NOTES 023
"When I feel stuck with life", the possession of a flower, spiky baroque, and a "little bit immature"
A Sunday playlist: A calm frutiger aero playlist
A Sunday watch: Neighbors by Norman McLaren (1952) 8 min
“In this Oscar®-winning short film, Norman McLaren employs the principles normally used to put drawings or puppets into motion to animate live actors. The story is a parable about two people who come to blows over the possession of a flower.”
TV and mood boards,

Something I’m thinking about:
When I feel stuck with life, I remind myself that my mind is full of resources. My mind is a tool that can get me through tough situations. I can ask for help. I’m not out of options. One day will look like this, and the next day can look different.
Something that inspires me:
The work of Dagobert Peche (1887-1923), Austrian artist and designer. In the early 1920s, he introduced a new style in the decorative arts described as ‘spiky baroque’ (obsessed with that term), inspired by folk-art, using flowers, animals, and human figures.
A quote:
“Once in a while, I do these things that would make the 10-year old version of me laugh. I don't know why. You've got to do something a little bit immature. I'm surprised at how often those are my best ideas.
