A Sunday playlist: Club classics
A Sunday watch: Andy Warhol Eating a Hamburger (4 min) Andy Warhol Part 1, 2 with ABC News 20/20 (13 min)
“Fame is more famous now than it was before there was Andy. People can get more famous and fame is more meaningful now.” Fran Liebowitz
“His idea of a good picture? One of a famous person doing something unfamous. It’s being in the right place at the wrong time.”
I will enjoy this Sunday with literature,
art,
thought,
and a movie.
Something I’m thinking about:
Is fame something we’ll always obsess over? Perhaps, a life without celebrities is too bland. Do we need stars to guide us? Or are we capable of imagining a life of our own, without someone to look up to?
The sky was cloudy last night, I couldn’t see the stars.
The sun never forgets to rise. Even when we forget to look up, the sun is loyal and present.
Something that inspires me:
The work of Japanese-American photographer Hiro (1930-2021)
Two quotes:
“In a world of distractions, reading is a form of rebellion. It is a way to truly connect with yourself and others.
“For me, literacy means freedom. For the individual and for society.
—LeVar Burton
