This Afternoon Tea craft: Clay art for the wall or a greeting card
This afternoon’s tea: Circus cinnamon, move your spoon in swift circles!
On this Friday, I make a craft—something for the wall or maybe a greeting card.
I don’t always know what I’m doing. Not everything I make is going to be good. I change my mind while making something, I make decisions I don’t like. What I start with isn’t always what I end up with.
The truth is, you’re not always going to like what you make. You make it anyway.
Today, I make something out of clay. I wanted it to be better, but making something isn’t about it being good. Or perfect. It’s nurturing your relationship with your creativity, seeing something exist outside of your head, and leaving something behind.
I look for inspiration in my past work. I often create something and forget about it. But we connect to consistency, as viewers and creators, and sticking to a character for a while, or workshopping a particular look or story is good practice!
For this craft, I’m going to make something that combines the clown-like painting, with the balloon and the hat from my “I like it so I wear it” drawing.
